Almost there

Updated: Jun 21, 2020

This week we had a huge progress in our final steps towards the final prototype.

We had printed our fourth prototype and we can not be more satisfied with it.

We had some changes made both in the widest of the device and it’s height.

In addition, we had changed the size of the ‘playing’ buttons in order to make them better for the user and overall experience.

Our final version is still in printing but we plan to color it to our final colors we had decided on.

We have decided to have our prototype in black and white because after we had tested the lights against these colors it seems to have the best replication in order to make the lights pop and be more appealing to the eye of the user.

This week we also set down to finalize our script for the final sort film of the prototype.

We set down to understand how we wish to present the product in the best way possible; both to show his best features and the experience he will give the user.

We had chosen actors, location and angles in order for us to come to the shooting day prepared.

This week we solved the problem of lack of digital pins by concatenating 4 buttons to an analog pin using some resistors and a little bit of electrical science, also we solved our problem with polyphonic music by changing the audio format to WAV that does not require decoding in running time thus allowing us to play multiple tracks and mix them together.

another issue that we had was a lack of heap space inside the ESP which we solved after searching rigorously in the open issues of the audio library (the solution was to be really picky on which audio file we are opening on the same time)

this week we also integrated all the pieces of code of that we have created and after testing them all separately, we combined them one at a time and made sure they work properly (we still have some little small kinks to solve in the tech perspective we have our first MVP)

The design process

This week we had a meeting with Michal about the design process for our product. We had started with a discussion about all the features that we will need in our product based on our user testings. Fi
